Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
