The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests. Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact. In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her. Warden as “Personal Secretary” The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide. Congressional Response In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request. “It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.” The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.
